Merry Christmas!!!

As usual, time is getting away from me & sadly my time for scrapping is desperately lacking! Hopefully once the festivities have settled, I'll get back to it. Hehe I've got a few new Crafters templates to play with ;)
I have managed to play with the camera & my new 50mm lens...bokeh is something I've itching to experiment with for a while. Here's my attempt last night!

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas full of laughter, love & loads of yummy food ;) whatever way you celebrate the day!!! A huge thank you for all your support this year! :)

9th of December...already!!!

Arrrgh, this month is already hurtling along too quick for my liking...it's been filled with drama's, excitements, Presentation Awards, Christmas parties, the normal chaos...& sadly for me NO SCRAPPING!!! Wouldn't it be lovely to have a 'pause' button...just so I can tidy the house & enjoy some creative time without feeling guilty ;)

This month @ Scrap the Girls the challenge is baby pics.
It was nice to go back to an old photo...this is my youngest girl who is 7 days old here, being held by my gorgeous little sister.

The CT have created some beautiful examples of this challenge, you must check them out...here.

At White With 1 the challenge is WHITE + CHRISTMAS THEMED + CHRISTMAS PHOTO.

We were to get inspiration from a paper range...mine came from Kaisercraft's Silly Season. On the opposite side of the dot paper was brilliant christmas words in red...I simply loved the look of it & what a great excuse to use all those word stamps I have! :)

Here is a close up of the white embossed flower & title detail, using up a lot of bling.

WW1 have also announced their new CT...pop over & check them out & while you are there, see all the girls amazing creations for this month...you'll find them here.

Thanks for stopping by! As always...a huge thank you for all your lovely comments :) I really do appreciate the time you take to leave me one & they do leave a smile on my face! x

Tattered Angels DT call!

I actually gave this a go this year, with some wonderful encouragement ;) ...it would have been a 'dream come true' to get in, but...it gives me something to try out for again next year ;)
I am however, super excited for my gorgeous friend Louise, who did make the team! Woohoo!!! Personally I've always called her the 'Queen of Glimmer mist' & couldn't be happier for her! Tattered Angels & Lou are a perfect match :)

As well as glimmer mist & glaze...I had fun with the masks & texture paint here on this mini canvas.

Again with the texture paint, been wanting to do this for a while...lots of messy fun!

Thanks for stopping by & thank you for your lovely comments :) I really do appreciate them x

Mid-month update...

Seriously...where has this month gone!!! I'm feeling like I'm on the fast-track to Christmas & desperate for a little inner peace!
Something that does give me some of that inner peace is playing with my glimmer mist & Crafters templates :) Hehe also think I've mastered that lovely splatter here ;) I haven't been getting far enough away from my work...got some not so good splatters & some brilliant ones here! Haha the things that excite a girl!!! ;)

This is our new bathroom, something else that excites me at the moment...LOL though it created such a different feeling only a week ago ;) but I'm a huge believer...if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all!!! Haha after 3 weeks without a bathroom, it's such a relief & pleasure to have this & we are all certainly enjoying it! The only issue is, everyone loves the shower so much I can't get them out...including moi! :) We are still waiting on the glass shower screen & then it's done.
Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments :) I really do appreciate them x

Another retreat layout...

I was in need of some stress relief today...so I took some 'time out' to finish this layout I had started at retreat the previous weekend. This is a bit of a sentimental fav for me :) though I struggled to colour match with that dress!!! LOL it was a favourite at the time...haha thankfully taste does change & so does fashion ;)

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments! It really does mean a lot to me...& puts a big smile on my face! x

SFS Retreat!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to escape reality & have some fun @ the SFS Retreat! Peta looked after us so well & all the girls were really lovely & fun, making it a brilliant weekend. One can never complain about fab food, lots of laughs & guilt free scrapping...hehe certainly not me!!!
This is some of what I did over the weekend.
'Guitar Hero' is probably one of my fav's, mainly because of the intensity of my boys face while playing the guitar...I love it!

I had actually done the misting for this one prior to retreat, just didn't get to finish it at the time.

My new Crafters Workshop template...hehe when you look at all my retreat layouts, you notice a bit of a theme happening with the background ;) I certainly made use of it this weekend!

This was a sketch designed by Peta.

The following two layouts were 'blind scrapping' set by Peta...LOL I still find blind scrapping sooo out of my comfort zone, but they were certainly a lot of fun!

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments :) I really do appreciate that you take the time to leave me a message x

Scrap the Girls November challenge!

How freaky to think we are in November!!! We are certainly on the downhill run to Christmas...haha sorry, just had to point that out! ;)

The November challenge over @ Scrap the Girls is...

multi photo, dominant colour pink & polka dots.

This is my take on the challenge.

Check out the other CT's brilliant inspiration here. I look forward to seeing everyone else's creations.

Thank you for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments...I truely do appreciate each & every one of them! x

Scrapping Happy!

Always happy to be scrapping :) Hopefully I get to do more of it with school being back ;)

'Hello Gorgeous' is purely for play...I'm absolutely loving this 'Echo Park' range :) I've added a bit of yellow paint & a glimmer misted piece...too easy. The hardest part was getting the 'OK' from the daughter, she's not in love with this photo as much as I am!

This next one is for the Top 50 Cybercrop which is currently on...it's been a while since I've joined in a CC & with the topic of sketches, it's a no-brainer ;)

This is for Sue's (Pagemaps) sketch challenge, which I've turned on it's side. We also had to include handmade embellishments, which are the 3 red felt flowers.

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments! They really do mean a lot to me :) x

Passion 4 Fashion ~ wk 5

Week 5 of Passion 4 Fashion over @ Scrapboutique is 'Casual', with 40+ words of journaling & a non-scrapping or household item.
This is my take on the challenge...you can't get more casual & comfortable than my hubby :) Love you babe xxx

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments! I really do appreciate them all x

The October challenge over @ Scrap the Girls is to create a layout with the word 'love' in the title & to use distressing on your layout! This challenge was set by Marelize...to see her gorgeous creation & the other CT layouts, visit here.

I had received this very gorgeous Echo Park Paper pack from a special & generous friend, & couldn't wait to play with it :) Thank you my dear friend!
My bit of 'distressing' is the black paint in the background...I admire Crystal's use of black paint on her layouts & wanted to give it a go...especially as I had the paint out after completing my WW1 challenge.

& whilst the paint was still out...this time using the template again ;) hehe I'm already totally in love this this one & can see it featuring in my layouts over & over again!

This next layout is for Scrapboutique's Passion 4 Fashion wk 4 - Western (country). This layout came together surprisingly quickly for me. Again using another Crafters template, though I wished I'd use some texture paint rather than simply inking...next time ;)

I added the button hole section of an old pair of kids jeans, adding the extra large brads as buttons.

Thanks for stopping by...& a huge thank you for your lovely comments! I really do appreciate each & every one of them x

WW1 challenge & CT call...

The october challenge for WW1 is white + black + paints/mist...

Hehe how I suffered with this one ;) lots of scrapping happiness for me with my mist & Crafters Workshop template...haha the hardest part was sticking with one colour ;) I used both mist & paint on this layout.

See the talented CT creations here...speaking of which, while you are there, check out the details for the new Creative Team call. I'm loving my time with WW1 & would highly recommend you giving it a go.

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend! Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments...I really do appreciate them, more than words can express! x

Passion 4 Fashion - Wk 3

Week 3 Passion 4 Fashion @ Scrapboutique is Conservative (feminine/demure). It was certainly fun doing a very girly layout, especially to use my much neglected Fancy Pants Road Show paper range.

Here is a close up of the doily I found in an op shop last week...simply gorgeous :) & simply perfect for these photos & criteria.

Thanks for stopping by :) & a huge thank you for your beautiful comments, I really do appreciate them. Hehe it's amazing how a few lovely encouraging words can lift your spirits...cheers x

Passion 4 Fashion wk 2

Week 2 of Passion 4 Fashion over @ Scrapboutique was Dramatic (theatrical). With theatrical, I thought of stage curtains, which made me immediately remember two stand out layouts that I've admired for a while! These were done by the talented Melinda & Julie, so I've taken a bit of inspiration from both of them...you can see both their layouts, if you click on their names.
Hehe I know my stage curtains are a little confused opening at the side, but you get the idea ;) This layout is about my daughters choice of 'drama' as her elective for next year...seemed so perfect for this weeks criteria! We were also required to include a quote, which I struggled with for a while, until I related it to her & came up with this one from her favorite movie series Harry Potter ~ "In dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own" Albus Dumbledore.

A close up of the flowers & black rhinestones, which I've used loads of! I love how this has turned out...huge thanks girls for the inspiration! :)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are all enjoying this glorious spring weather...wherever you live ;) I know I certainly am!!!

Thank you, as always, for your lovely comments...I really do appreciate them x

More weekend scrapping to share...

This layout actually started off for the Passion 4 Fashion - Haute Couture challenge, but in the end I didn't feel it fitted my image of haute couture, or maybe I simply don't see myself as 'high fashion' ;) LOL!
It's a bit of a personal layout for me, to remind me daily of my commitment that I've started this week on positive change...I'm simply not going to survive each day, but live it! This week marks a year since my world was turned upside down with a health scare! A lot of gratitude & good have come from this, but also a lot of pain & emotional distress which has kept me down. LOL I think the realisation that it's been a year was enough of a kick in the pants to pick myself up again! Sometimes that's simply what you need ;)

Here's a close up of my stamping & the handmade flower, I've used the main background paper for the clock to create it.

Thanks for stopping by & as always, a huge thank you to those that take the time to comment :) I really do love to read them x

Passion 4 Fashion 2011

It's been a while since I've done any challenges around the place & what better way to dive back in, than with the Passion 4 Fashion comp. over @ Scrapboutique.

Week # 1 is Haute Couture - 'high fashion', which to me is expensive, elegant, with clean lines & this photo of my parents on their wedding day symbolises all that for me. I've been pondering on this all week, but only got the chance to sit down yesterday...but do you think I could get what was in my head converted onto paper!!! No! Haha to be honest, this drove me nuts!, but I did finally get there & I'm pleased with it. You can't see in the photos, but the red is a velour patterned paper, which gives it a 'rich' look & texture.

Here's a closed up of the chipboard frame which I roughly heat embossed with silver.

Now to tidy up my huge mess, hehe there is a lot of discarded papers & embellishments...everywhere!

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for your lovely comments :) I really do appreciate all of them! x

Weekend scrapping!

'Forever Love' has been in the works for months...hehe it started off as a challenge, but when the month ended, it got pushed aside. I got back to it @ retreat, but didn't have my dimensional tape, red cardstock or be bothered to set up the sewing machine ;) ...but I've finally finished it! Woohoo! It's a freakishly old photo of hubby (boyfriend at the time) & I in China, it was a very windy day, hence the hair!, honestly it wasn't that bad...LOL I'm sure of it??? ;)

'Garden Magic', I wasn't even sure if I would upload to the blog ;) not sure if I like it??? I absolutely loved the paper & didn't want to distract from it, but...
I've added glimmer glam to the green bits, but it's impossible to see in photos.

Again, this last layout is one I started yonks ago, so brilliant to finally finish it off...haha well almost, still have the journaling to do ;)

Hope everyone enjoyed Fathers Day. We managed to take a heap of family photos...they are hilarious, but I don't think there is one decent pic among them! LOL the quest to get a good family shot...with 5 people, it's guaranteed one is pulling a face...!

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you to everyone that takes the time to comment...I really do appreciate all of your lovely messages! They have a way of brightening my day :)

Scrap the Girls September challenge!

This layout for STG came together very quickly after Mal told us this months criteria of STATIONERY. I had come across this school photo of myself, which made me think of those school days & all that stationery...& it simply evolved from there. Hehe my girls think I'm rather crazy writing a letter to my teenage self ;) but it was something I wanted to do...for myself. Hehe they are also bit peeved as I wouldn't let them read it...but one day, when they are a little older :)
I absolutely love the bird clip that my friend Cathy gave me at retreat & had a lot of fun doing this.

To see the rest of the Creative Teams inspiration for this challenge, check here.

Thanks for stopping by & many thanks for your lovely comments...I really do appreciate them! :)

Weekend scrapping!

It was sad not to see the sun much yesterday, but certainly a perfect excuse to stay indoors & scrap!!! :)

'On this day...' is the layout that I scrapped, using What is Old is New vintage kit...which is simply gorgeous, almost everything on this layout was included in the kit! I love this photo of my family...so interesting to see the fashion! Hehe even funnier to see my dad, not only in a suit & tie, but gloves!!! Sadly my mother is the only person still with us from this photo.

Thanks for stopping by, your lovely comments are always appreciated...many thanks! x

This layout is for the Stuck! August Bonus Sketch # 1. I had a bit of fun with this one. It's my 1st time doing one of their sketches...I've always loved them, just hadn't, but can see I'll be doing more.

This one is simply for the 'fun' of it...using some gorgeous papers & some really old photos :)

This is a layout that I started at retreat...thanks Michelle for the template, love it! Hehe as soon as her back is turned...I'm off with it ;)

This year I've done a bit of 'scrap therapy' & this layout is a recent one. With the 10 yr anniversary coming up, it seemed timely for me. I think being a new mum at the time, this event left it's mark on me...as it did for many. Photo credit to Pierre Coquil, taken in 1998.

Thanks for stopping by...as always, your lovely comments are very much appreciated :) thank you x

Retreat scrapping!

Last weekend I did manage some scrapping between loads of laughs & chatter at retreat! I absolutely loved 2 days of guilt-free scrapping :)

This paper was perfect for these photos, not much needed to do at all...don't you love those easy layouts! :)

I had fun playing with the 'big shot' dies & embossing folders after getting my hands on some 'core color' cardstock. I hope my MIL forgives me for putting her on green pp, she hated green...but I simply loved this paper & thought it suited beautifully ;)

I'm very happy to get some older photos scrapped...this is my eldest, in her fathers shoes!

The rest are yet to be completed...I just have to set aside some time! LOL which is easier said than done!!!

Thanks for stopping by :) & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments...they do mean so much to me x

WW1 & STG...

A new month & new fabulous challenges for you...

White with 1 challenge this month is WHITE + PURPLE + DOODLING!
This is my take on the challenge...I certainly had fun with it, making the most of my newly acquired 'posca' pens. I've glimmer misted a random shape & doodled with the pens around it.

You can view the other gorgeous creations by the creative team here.

Over at Scrap the Girls this month, our inspiration comes from a quote:

"Children need love, especially when they do not deserve it" - Harold Hulbert

Originally I had no idea what I was going to do with this quote, but my eldest reminded me of the time her sister ripped up the pinata that she had 'rescued' at her party! These photos are classic of my youngest daughter & we've been having a giggle over them...though, all these years later, I still don't think her sister has forgiven her!!!

Here's a close up of the lemon & lime bags that I used trying to replicate the shredded pinata ;) These photo's weren't the best, so I reduced the size of them & converted one to blk & white...the expression on her face is priceless ;)

You can view the rest of the creative teams brilliant layouts here.

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for all your lovely comments...they do mean so much to me! :)

I'm 'retreating' at the end of the week, so hopefully I'll have loads to share next week...fingers crossed. Have a great week x

Happy Scrapping!!!
