Passion 4 Fashion - Wk 3

Week 3 Passion 4 Fashion @ Scrapboutique is Conservative (feminine/demure). It was certainly fun doing a very girly layout, especially to use my much neglected Fancy Pants Road Show paper range.

Here is a close up of the doily I found in an op shop last week...simply gorgeous :) & simply perfect for these photos & criteria.

Thanks for stopping by :) & a huge thank you for your beautiful comments, I really do appreciate them. Hehe it's amazing how a few lovely encouraging words can lift your spirits...cheers x

Passion 4 Fashion wk 2

Week 2 of Passion 4 Fashion over @ Scrapboutique was Dramatic (theatrical). With theatrical, I thought of stage curtains, which made me immediately remember two stand out layouts that I've admired for a while! These were done by the talented Melinda & Julie, so I've taken a bit of inspiration from both of them...you can see both their layouts, if you click on their names.
Hehe I know my stage curtains are a little confused opening at the side, but you get the idea ;) This layout is about my daughters choice of 'drama' as her elective for next year...seemed so perfect for this weeks criteria! We were also required to include a quote, which I struggled with for a while, until I related it to her & came up with this one from her favorite movie series Harry Potter ~ "In dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own" Albus Dumbledore.

A close up of the flowers & black rhinestones, which I've used loads of! I love how this has turned out...huge thanks girls for the inspiration! :)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are all enjoying this glorious spring weather...wherever you live ;) I know I certainly am!!!

Thank you, as always, for your lovely comments...I really do appreciate them x

More weekend scrapping to share...

This layout actually started off for the Passion 4 Fashion - Haute Couture challenge, but in the end I didn't feel it fitted my image of haute couture, or maybe I simply don't see myself as 'high fashion' ;) LOL!
It's a bit of a personal layout for me, to remind me daily of my commitment that I've started this week on positive change...I'm simply not going to survive each day, but live it! This week marks a year since my world was turned upside down with a health scare! A lot of gratitude & good have come from this, but also a lot of pain & emotional distress which has kept me down. LOL I think the realisation that it's been a year was enough of a kick in the pants to pick myself up again! Sometimes that's simply what you need ;)

Here's a close up of my stamping & the handmade flower, I've used the main background paper for the clock to create it.

Thanks for stopping by & as always, a huge thank you to those that take the time to comment :) I really do love to read them x

Passion 4 Fashion 2011

It's been a while since I've done any challenges around the place & what better way to dive back in, than with the Passion 4 Fashion comp. over @ Scrapboutique.

Week # 1 is Haute Couture - 'high fashion', which to me is expensive, elegant, with clean lines & this photo of my parents on their wedding day symbolises all that for me. I've been pondering on this all week, but only got the chance to sit down yesterday...but do you think I could get what was in my head converted onto paper!!! No! Haha to be honest, this drove me nuts!, but I did finally get there & I'm pleased with it. You can't see in the photos, but the red is a velour patterned paper, which gives it a 'rich' look & texture.

Here's a closed up of the chipboard frame which I roughly heat embossed with silver.

Now to tidy up my huge mess, hehe there is a lot of discarded papers & embellishments...everywhere!

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for your lovely comments :) I really do appreciate all of them! x

Weekend scrapping!

'Forever Love' has been in the works for months...hehe it started off as a challenge, but when the month ended, it got pushed aside. I got back to it @ retreat, but didn't have my dimensional tape, red cardstock or be bothered to set up the sewing machine ;) ...but I've finally finished it! Woohoo! It's a freakishly old photo of hubby (boyfriend at the time) & I in China, it was a very windy day, hence the hair!, honestly it wasn't that bad...LOL I'm sure of it??? ;)

'Garden Magic', I wasn't even sure if I would upload to the blog ;) not sure if I like it??? I absolutely loved the paper & didn't want to distract from it, but...
I've added glimmer glam to the green bits, but it's impossible to see in photos.

Again, this last layout is one I started yonks ago, so brilliant to finally finish it off...haha well almost, still have the journaling to do ;)

Hope everyone enjoyed Fathers Day. We managed to take a heap of family photos...they are hilarious, but I don't think there is one decent pic among them! LOL the quest to get a good family shot...with 5 people, it's guaranteed one is pulling a face...!

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you to everyone that takes the time to comment...I really do appreciate all of your lovely messages! They have a way of brightening my day :)

Scrap the Girls September challenge!

This layout for STG came together very quickly after Mal told us this months criteria of STATIONERY. I had come across this school photo of myself, which made me think of those school days & all that stationery...& it simply evolved from there. Hehe my girls think I'm rather crazy writing a letter to my teenage self ;) but it was something I wanted to do...for myself. Hehe they are also bit peeved as I wouldn't let them read it...but one day, when they are a little older :)
I absolutely love the bird clip that my friend Cathy gave me at retreat & had a lot of fun doing this.
