New Release from ArtStacks!

Hello, hello! Have you seen the absolutely FABulous new "Artist Series' release from ArtStacks? I'm a huge fan of Deb Weiers art, and loved her first release, so absolutely adore this new release...

Wonky Bits and Wonky Critters.

"Tweet" is a combination of both packs, I think? Haha let's be real, I ripped open those packs as soon I had them in my hot little hands and got cutting, so I could create as soon as possible. I was immediately drawn to this bird and everything just flowed from there. I had a pre-stenciled tag, which I used as a 'platform', as I didn't want my bird to get lost on the page. After ripping a strip of the 'tweet' words, I inked it with blue distress oxide ink. Adding a piece to my tag and later adding the leftover to the page at the end. I loved this yellow flower, which I added behind the bird. Adding the yellow sticker 'boulders' to balance the yellow on the page.

Don't forget to pop over to the ArtStacks blog to check out the amazing creations from the rest of the team. You'll find it HERE.

ArtStacks Designs

Hello, it's my turn over on the fabulous ArtStacks Designs blog!

"Sanity time"...I seriously don't get enough of it, which is why I'm completely grateful to be on this DT as it forces me to make the odd time, which is seriously still not enough. Do you struggle with time?

This background started off as a 'clean it up' page, so it has random stenciling. As it was a tad busy (for me), I added this striped piece from 'Deb Weiers Wonky Backgrounds'. It already had the 3 holes cut out, used previously on another page. I then cut out figures using chipboard shapes, again one is a background from 'Deb Weiers' pack and the blue is from "Lorraine Haight Moraine BackStack', all being edged  roughly in pen. I also added the leaf which was in the background, just in white. A lovely friend gave these to me <3 I then added journaling (haha, probably me promising myself to make more arty time) down the side of the page and a title. Final step was some ink splatters around the page.

Here is a close up of those gorgeous BackStacks...

Make sure you pop over to the ArtStacks blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the DT, they are certainly worth the look. You can find them HERE.

October Kraft+ Challenge!

Hello and welcome to another month, life is seriously hurtling along! As always, one of the great things of a new month, is a new challenge to be inspired by. This month over at Kraft+ Challenges, we have a fun one, giving you a bit more choice on what you do...

This month it's TIC, TAC, TOE! So choose a line, any line...down, across or diaganally and use the 3 things on that line on your creation. Which line will you choose?

I went with the far right down line...paint, stencils and ribbon! It's certainly been a VERY long time since I've used ribbon on anything but a present!

I swipped some green and yellow paint (Dina Wakley) on my background with a credit card, then through a couple of stencils (Dina Wakley & Kinder Kreations), the red paint. I then taped down this gorgeous measuring tape ribbon, which I have to confess I absolutely loved, but have never or rarely used it...so loved, that you save it for something 'good', but isn't everything you create 'good' or special? Please tell me I'm not the only one to hoard 'special' stuff! I also found this incredibly old felt ribbon/tape which I added...it is seriously time I used up all my old stuff. Then I didn't neccessarily want my focal point to completely cover everything I'd just done, so went with a tissue paper figure from ArtStacks. I love this girl, with her black hair, she's so striking and a great focal. Though because I had my ArtStacks box out, I couldn't help grab the red coated man...I love his red coat, he and it, made the perfect addition to my page. "The Queen's Kiss" was the most fitting of titles, looking through the phases on a Tim Holtz sticker page...I wanted a Kraft one, rather than black or white. So with Queen in the title...a crown was needed. Again this was a very old Tim Holtz crown which I painted gold.

Make sure you pop over the the Kraft+ blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team, you can find that HERE

Thanks for stopping by, I truly do appreciate it.

September Kraft+ Challenge!

I know technically the month is over, but thought I would still share on here a final art journal page I did for the September Kraft+ COLOUR CHALLENGE, using blue, red, orange & yellow. It all started again while I was tidying up my scrap area & found this...

How perfect are these colours for the months challenge, it's like it was made for it or the challenge was made for these! LOL I just had to use them! They are Natalie May's 'Words of Wisdom" flat Magicals.

The background red is Dina Wakley paint, but everything else is these Magicals, including the blue texture paste over the red. I simply added some of the magicals to the texture paste before swiping through a stencil. I created plain backgrounds with the colours, then cut out some dies with Tim Holtz mannequin die. I've also added thread to the spools from the same die set. I had so much fun creating this and isn't that what this is all about!

I also put my dies through an embossing folder to give them some texture...now that is something that has been very much neglected for years! Also punching out some flowers from the same watercoloured backgrounds.

Here is a closeup of my page "embrace beautiful chaos" which I thought was quite fitting considering the business of this and the fact that these were found in my mess ;)

Don't forget to check in soon for the new months challenge.
