Kraft It Up challenge!

Managed to just finish the KIU challenge before the end of month! The criteria was non-traditional Christmas colours for a Christmas photo & knots in ribbon or twine. I had fun again with the paint & kindy glitz.

The kindy glitz is rather hard to photograph, but after stamping the tree (tattered angels glimmer screen) in paint, I've tried to create the idea of snow on the tree.

It's hard to believe it's the last day of 2010...the year has vanished all too quick!!!
Wishing everyone a safe & very Happy New Year...hoping 2011 brings you much joy & may your dreams come true! :)

Layouts to share!

'Always be true to YOU' is a layout that I completed before Christmas. I simply had a need to play with my 'brick template' & my new Tim Holtz stamps...hmmm, love them!

'Today you...' was for Sue's yellow challenge over @ Top 50. Funny, there's been a few yellow challenges of late, which must have cured me of my yellow phobia!...this wasn't hard at all!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by...& a huge thank you for all your lovely comments :) they are wonderful to read!

Merry Christmas!!!

Hoping everyone had a joyous & festive Christmas!!!

It's here & gone all too quick, but now comes the time to relax...hehe well, we are in this household! The kids are all happy with their new stuff, which leaves me to happily scrap! :)
& getting into the spirit of Christmas...I couldn't go past the colour combo of red & green for this months Scrap the Girls challenge. It wasn't what I was going with before Christmas, but my blue & orange layout can wait ;)
'Oh Santa, I've been sooo very good' is so typical of my DD...here we are trying to do our Christmas photo shoot...hehe lets say, there is a lot of 'out takes'!!!

Hopefully you are all getting some scrapping time over the break...enjoy!

WW1 Challenge!

The month of December is always a little crazy...add to that, our decision to completely rip up all our tiles in both the kitchen & dining room, it's complete mayhem here!!! But I've finally put aside some time to scrap & other than the layer of wood dust over everything :0 ...it's been great!

As I've never really scrapped in grey & I love masking, I simply couldn't go past this months WW1 challenge, which has been slowly forming in my mind. I'm pretty pleased with the results, though it's a subject matter close to my heart & had to be recorded! I'm very proud of my DD's strength & continued determination to stand up to the bullies!!! Love my 'rebel with a cause' xx
I didn't have grey glimmermist, so I first misted in black magic, then a lot of pearl. I've inked my chipboard white, then embossed in silver...with grey stamping.

Thank you, as always, for your lovely comments...they do bring a huge smile to my day!
Hoping things are not too crazy for you all :)

A new month...

...& welcome to summer! LOL though you wouldn't know it with this weather!!!
With a new month comes new challenges...gotta love that! Here is the December sketch challenge for Forever Always, all the details plus Kye's gorgeous inspiration can be found here.
Also with a new month...comes a new Creative Kit for Forever Always. Check out the details & Sonia's inspiration here.

This reminds me that I didn't post the last layout I created using last months Creative Kit. This is my old SLR which has found new life with my daughter who, like me, is spending a whole lot of time in the dark room @ school!

As we enter the 'silly season'...happy scrapping everyone!

What a week!

But I seriously can't complain...I've got a lot to be grafeful for! Always better to focus on the good, than dwell on the bad ;)
One of those good things for this week is finally scrapping a challenge over @ Scrapboutique. I loved this challenge that Em set...all male layout, no flowers & add a moustache (though this was not compulsory) I knew instantly which photos to use...Movember photos from 2 years ago!

Thanks for stopping by, your comments are always appreciated :)

Happy scrapping!

123 Challenge

I had fun completing this months 123 challenge using the word 'live'; colour blue & doodling. This layout is to my kids, in particular to the eldest after her recent trip. No matter how painful for me, I always want to encourage them, to 'live their dreams'.

Thanks for all the lovely comments recently, I really do appreciate them.
Happy scrapping.

White with 1

Regular readers of my blog will know that I really struggle with scrapping yellow, so this months WW1 criteria was certainly a challenge for me. Hehe finding yellow in my stash was a challenge in itself ;) hence why I went with the paint. The other criteria was to write directly on the page...rather please with how my 'lemon pucker face' layout turned out!

Thanks for visiting...happy scrapping! :)

Scrapping update!

Last weekend Michelle & I escaped reality & retreated!!! It was fantastic to get away & meet new people, including the lovely Peta...& in between loads of laughs, food & fun, I did manage to scrap! Woohoo!!!
Here's some of what I got done...

This first layout is showcasing my son's delightful habit of using tomato sauce on absolutely everything...& I mean everything!

'smilin' boy' was inspired from using Sketch # 141 from Pencil Lines.

Materials for 'new do' is from the gorgeous July Girl kit from What Is Old Is New that I recently won.

Thanks for stopping by...as always, a huge thank you for the lovely comments :) they do bring a smile to my face!

Loving my 'Gigi class'!

I'm absolutely loving this layout...couldn't have done it without Gigi! I participated in Giovanna's recent online class & I'm so glad I did, love the results & picked up a couple of brilliant techniques. I'm sure the class is still open for those who still want to take part, you can find the details here.

Thank you again Gigi, looking forward to the next one ;)

Haven't got anything else to share at this stage...lot's of 'secret squirrel' creations using the Forever Always Creative Kit for next month. I can tell you it's simply 'yumm', so be sure to watch out for it as of the 1st, when all will be revealed! ;)

Thanks for stopping by & a huge thank you for your lovely comments :)

Echo Park Papers.

I absolutely love these Echo Park papers, such 'happy', colourful papers to work with...
'Turning 15' is for Anthea's monthly challenge over @ Top 50 using punches; staples & lace.

'Triple choc indulgence' showcases both the Sweet Summertime range & Life is Good range which you can find in the Forever Always store.

I'm one very happy & excited mum at the moment, it's just under 24 hrs till my girl is home from Japan...feels like she has been away forever!
Thanks for visiting & a huge thank you for your lovely comments! :)

Challenge layout & cards!

I offered to do the cards for the teachers taking our kids to Japan...here they are. I had fun using the embossing cards from the Tim Holtz Sizzix range (thanks Sonia for yours too) & of course his inks...yum!
Let's hope the teachers like them :)

This layout is for Sue's monthly challenge over @ Top 50, where you had to use a pink ribbon; polka dots & a handmade button. I altered a button using glimmer mist & glimmer glaze (thanks Michelle), then adding a rub-on on top.

Thank you for all the lovely comments, I do appreciate them! :)
Happy scrapping!

Can't get Japan out of my head!

With the 1st of October comes a host of brillant & inspiring challenges, but I simply had to complete this layout that has been going around in my head for a while.
I wanted to put on paper some of the thoughts & issues behind my girl's trip to Japan...bit of hidden journaling behind the photo mat. Safe travels baby...missing you heaps!!!
Loving the Websters Pages, which you can find in the Forever Always store.

Happy scrapping everyone, hope you are enjoying the long weekend!

Forever Always October Sketch...

...is up! Looking forward to seeing everyone's take on this sketch in the Forever Always gallery.
Here is my take on the sketch...thanks Kye for the inspiration! :) I've used the gorgeous Bella Ruby Rock It Summerhouse collection which you can find in store...& absolutely loving the 2Crafty stuff too!

I would also recommend you checking out Sonia's Creative Kits which have gone on sale today. Sonia has such gorgeous taste & I'm loving the look of these...they are simply her!
Happy scrapping...I'm looking forward to a more productive month ahead, wish me luck! ;)

Personal scrapping...

These last couple of weeks have simply been mad!!! My eldest girl has just jetted off to Japan, which has added to the rush & pushed my emotions to the limit...
Hehe nothing like doing things last minute...I did this 'thank you' card, for her host family, rather late the night before she left. Kept it fairly simple due to the late hour by using some stamps, glimmermist & a tissue paper flower...half the work is done with these gorgeous tags from Tattered Angels!

& because I was up @ a ridiculous time (2.45) in the morning...rather than going back to bed, I scrapped...
On this layout I've printed my photo, which was taken by Lou @ the Forever Always Retreat last year, onto the same Tattered Angels tag. For my background, I've handwritten affirmations over & over again to fill the whole page (bit like the old theory of writing out your lines 100 times...hopefully it sinks in!) & then used glimmermist & my new Prima bird mask.

Here is a close up shot of the stamping, using a couple of shades of Perfect Pearls.
Thanks for stopping by...your comments are always appreciated.
Happy scrapping.

Layouts to share!

Sadly, my mojo has taken a huge hit over the last month with the events going on around here! I'm also still struggling with that 'balance'...hopefully I find it quickly, 'cause I'm itching to play again!!!
'She rocks' layout came simply from my desire to use this new brick template I bought with my prize over @ Scrapboutique. I can see it featuring in a few of my layouts...simply love it!

Hehe, can you tell I stocked up on new masks to play with...more of them still waiting to experiment with!!!

Thanks for stopping by...happy scrapping!

I have got to show you a close-up of their gorgeous crochet flowers...love them!

Check out the Forever Always store for this & more in this beautiful range.

Scrapping to share :)

Can't believe this month is nearly over...everything is moving a little too fast for me at the moment! So many challenges still on my 'to do' list...I've got to make some changes around here & allow myself more scrapping time, without the guilt!
This first share is a card I made for my DD's teacher...she has given up a lot of personal time to help these kids & deserved a 'thank you'!

'Is that really you?' is for Scrap the Girls current 'messy' challenge, using 'less than lady-like' photos with a messy technique. I've used stamping & misting on my layout of my eldest DD in the mud! Haha these photos still blow my mind, as this is my 'princess' who has always been immaculate from a very young age!

'My happy boy' layout is for Kraft It Up & their colour challenge of kraft, blk, green & yellow.

Thank you to those that take the time to comment, it means a lot to me! :)
Happy scrapping everyone!

Layouts to share.

Here are the final layouts that I started @ retreat.
I simply couldn't resist these gorgeous 'Websters' papers, though found them rather difficult to work with, as I didn't want to cover any of them up! ;)

& this 'tongue in cheek' layout of my DH on the phone to work whilst we were on holiday!

Thank you for all my well wishes & lovely comments, they always bring a smile to my face & brighten the day. I am feeling a lot better...it's certainly taken a while to shake this bug off! It's so beautiful to have this warmer weather.
Happy scrapping!!!
