Show us your Stuff Mid Month reveal

Hello, sorry for my lateness with this...been a big past week for me with my sister's wedding! Yay!

The mid month reveal is up over at Show us your Stuff. A reminder of the gorgeous inspiration...

& my take on the challenge...

When I saw the pastels palette I immediately thought of my gorgeous niece. My handmade piece is once again a flair from Flutterby Designs which I coloured with watercolours used in the background.

Pop over HERE to see the rest of the teams gorgeous creations. Hopefully this is on your 'to do' list if you've not already joined in :)
Thanks for stopping by. As always, a huge thank you for all your lovely comments...they do mean so much to me x

Meeting Heidi Swapp.

Hello, I hope you enjoyed the Easter break...it was very relaxing here. The rain was the perfect excuse to be a bit lazy :)
Last month while Heidi Swapp was touring Australia, I managed to get myself up to Spotlight to meet her...what a fabulous experience that was, she is simply beautiful in every sense. We completed a little 'make & take', the highlight for me was the shimmery gold 'happy'. Haha I had purchased the 'happy' die the previous week & had put it to use, but seeing it in gold was...wow! I hunted down some shimmery gold cardboard & once home cut a whole heap of words & shapes. Expect to see a bit of gold over the next coming layouts.
Like here...

I had actually done this layout at the last retreat that I went to, just hadn't decided whether to add a title or not. "Happy" suits my boy perfectly & everyone suits gold right ;)
Here is a close up of the texture.

Next is the totally 'Heidi' layout of our morning. Amazing how much HS stuff I have collected over the years, even used some of the packaging.

It was also fabulous to catch up again with the very lovely Kim Jeffress...her creations are simply gorgeous! I love her photography, her clean designs & use of colour. The added highlight of the morning was sharing the experience with my long-time scrapping buddy...gotta treasure moments like this!
Thanks for stopping by...as always, a huge, huge thank you for all your lovely comments. They do mean so much to me & I really appreciate the time you take to leave me one x
Happy scrapping!

April 123 Challenge Blog!

It's such a bright fabulous challenge over at 123 Challenge Blog this month!

As soon as I saw the grid technique, I was reminded of a tutorial video from Ebony van der Starre, from memory it was her video for last years 'Pop & Colours'.

I used watercolour paper with 'distress pens' to create my grid paper, then sprayed with water to let the colours bleed a bit. I think next time I'll use gesso on cardstock first...Eb manages to get more movement on hers which I absolutely adore.

Here is a close up of my flower cluster...I so love these Flutterby Designs flairs, haha can you tell I've restocked ;) This one is the type that you can add your own colour, but I loved the simplicity of the black & white so left it plain.

Pop over to the blog HERE to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team.
Thanks for stopping by...as always, a huge thank you for all your lovely comments! I do appreciate each and every one of them, especially the time you take to leave me one x

Kraft+ April challenge!

Happy April!!! Haha I know I say this every month, but seriously these months are screaming past too quick! Even though the time is flashing past, it was so fabulous to see so many entries in last months challenge over @ Kraft+...it's such a thrill for all of us! I hope you'll all join in again this month for our 'recipe challenge'.

This was a super fun challenge, I actually took inspiration from the new gelatos I had picked up...the colours were perfect. The packaging had the diamond background, which I repeated on my own layout using the gelatos.

I love these plain flairs from Flutterby Designs, it's so brilliant to be able to add your own colour to the designs...I used the gelatos to colour them as well as the tags. 'Boy' in my title is actually silver embossed, the photography doesn't show the slight shimmer.
Pop over to the Kraft+ blog HERE to check out the rest of the inspiration, it's simply stunning, these girls are amazing!
Thanks for stopping by, as always, a huge, huge thank you for all your lovely comments! I really do appreciate each & every one of them x
