123 Challenge Blog!

Hello! I managed to get a couple of challenges done while at a recent retreat...yay! The challenge over at 123 Challenge Blog was also one...

Here is my take on the challenge...

For the background I used a combination of blue & green colour blast mist...I do love the shimmer they leave, sadly it doesn't really photograph that well. I painted the chipboard grey, adding a few splashes around the place. This photo was taken after storms, the sea was like a large washing machine, yet there is still some idiot out there risking life & limb for a thrill! It's possibly hard to see, but there is someone 'chain surfing' on the edge of the pool. Haha I must be getting old, because it doesn't look at all thrilling to me ;)
Thanks for stopping by...& a huge thank you for any comments you may leave me. I truly do appreciate each & every one of them x

Scrap the Girls

As I said on Facebook...take a seat, because I have scrapped a challenge layout!!! Haha too early to say the drought is over, but it certainly felt good. When I saw the challenge over at Scrap the Girls, I immediately knew which photo to scrap...too easy, gotta love challenges like that!

Here is their challenge...

The quote for this challenge certainly applies to my girl. Here's my take...

November Kraft+ Challenge...

...for this month's challenge we want you to 'think BIG'!

I may say this every month, but I truly love the challenges over at Kraft+, there is just enough inspiration without being too restrictive....the possibilities are endless. This month you are to include something BIG on your 'Kraft' layout...a big title, a big element or like me, a BIG photo!

Using one of my sunset photos which I printed off in A4 size, I embellished the blank area of the photo. Too easy with these fabulous tags from Kaisercraft.
Check out the other BIG ideas from the rest of the team HERE & have fun with this challenge.

A bit of a catch up...

...actually, it's probably more a massive catch up! I've been super slack with my blog this year. While I've been super quiet, I have been scrapping, just not getting the time to photograph & share.

Here is some of what I've been up to...

This one is actually from last year, using water-colours on water-colour paper with a Crafters Workshop stencil, the gorgeous chipboard from Imaginarium Designs. A bit of Louise inspiration with the use of tissue paper behind the photo.

Again, more Louise inspired scrapping with this one, though this is actually more a 'scraplift'. I couldn't find the original on her blog, I may have seen it on Facebook. Again, this one was started at retreat, just for the stamped Prima girl, which then sat around for ages till seeing Lou's layout...of course her layout is simply 'outstanding' & that's not to put myself down, but I'm not as meticulous & precise as Louise. Her attention to detail is seriously amazing <3 :="" a="" anyway="" at="" attention="" beading="" but="" close="" come="" detail.="" doesn="" few="" first="" had="" hand="" have="" her="" hers="" i="" it="" love="" my="" next="" of="" p="" privilege="" retreat="" seen="" seriously="" sitting="" so="" t="" the="" times="" to="" ve="" work="">

I love Dylusions Paint, they are especially good on black as they don't lose their intensity. I've used them with a Prima stencil. I kept the background fairly simple as I didn't want to compete with the photo. My journaling is on the tag just peaking out from behind the photo. I was so blessed to work with these girls on my very first DT, I'm even more blessed to still be able to call them all friends! This craft has brought so many blessings <3 p="">

We'll end with a super silly one...haha gotta love 'snapchat' filters to fill in the boredom, we were fun while driving for a couple of hours. Again I've used Dylusions paints on my background, which I mixed with texture paste to use with this 'Flutterby Designs' stencil. I do find Dylusions paint with texture paste is still a little runny for my liking, so for the triangles just sponged the paint on through the stencil.
Thanks for stopping by...as always, a huge thank you for any comments you may need me. I seriously do appreciate each & every one of them x

Kraft+ Challenge...

I'm sure you have all seen this month's 'clearly' brilliant challenge over at Kraft+ ;)

This is my take on the challenge...

I started this layout at retreat, borrowing a stencil & pearl colour blast paste to replicate the bubbles on a piece of packaging. I loved the results...unfortunately after sticking it all down & waiting to photograph my layout, the packaging bubbled & warped in the heat of my scraproom...oops! The downfall of having my space in the sun-room. It's a glorious room to scrap in, but I must remember not to leave layouts on my desk! My other clear elements are very old 'Bo-Bunny' clear arrows & brackets.

September Kraft+

Spring has sprung!
With a new month, comes a new challenge & as usual, it's a beauty over at Kraft+ Challenges...'bee' inspired!

Here's my take on the challenge...

I had Pink Paisley's 'Queen Bee' range in my stash...simply perfect! I started with the 2 strip stickers in my background & then with a stencil & Distress pen, coloured some smaller honeycomb designs.

Also in my stash was this metal bee & clock embellishment...so perfect! I was very excited to find this :)

Pop over HERE to check out the absolutely amazing creations from the rest of the team, so inspirational! Have fun with this one.

A catchup...

It doesn't seem so long ago that I was saying 'I'm back' & I'm saying it again, as I've been recovering from another trip to hospital, this time for surgery! Hopefully this is the end of it...I can only hope! This year has certainly been a bit of a roller coaster ride, haha aren't they all in varying degrees.

Anyway, here's a bit of a catch-up of my creations...I'll confess, these are rather old ones...

This one is photo's from my cruise last year, the paper range from Kaisercraft, the chipboard & stencil from A2Z Scraplets.

I love this paper, again from Kaisercraft...the colours, the different patterns, it's a really interesting range.  Here I've used more A2Z Scraplets chipboard.

These photo's were from after the big storm that hit Sydney shores, I was lucky enough to snap this photo...isn't nature amazing!

I used crackle gloss on my title, to give it a weathered looked.

Thank you for stopping by & any comments you may leave are much appreciated, thank you!

Kraft+ Challenges...

Hello...I know, I'm one super slack blogger!!!
I'm hoping that will change, fingers crossed things are finally on the improve for me health wise & I can get back into some normal routine. I certainly have a bit to share, but rather than one massive overload, I'll break it into bite size pieces ;)

Here is my DT layout for last month's gorgeous 'rose 3 ways' challenge. I used gesso with a Kaisercraft stencil on my background & with some colour blast on the tag. I've also used a wooden rose, a resin rose & a couple of fabric ones.

....& this month's 'tree inspired' challenge. Here's the inspiration...

...& here's my take on the challenge, my focus was on the journaling as it's about a tree from my childhood & as the tree no longer stands, I pinched a photo from the internet. For my background I tried to replicate the weeping willow leaves with a stencil & gelatos. I kept the layout fairly basic as it was already looking fairly busy with all the writing.

We are only days away from a new month & a gorgeous new challenge. Seriously, where is the year going!!!
Thank you for stopping by...be back shortly to share more.
Happy scrapping!

June Kraft+

Hello! This year is seriously vanishing all too fast for my liking. The beauty of a new month is new challenges to inspire you.
This month's criteria over at Kraft+ is Kraft Plus ONE!

As well as the ONE colour, you are allowed to add black & white to your layout.
Here is my take on the challenge...

I've realised I'm a little bit addicted to orange, considering this month's & last month's layouts. I guess it works perfectly with my sunrise photos that I've been doing of late. Haha promise to come up with something different next time.

I am back!!!

Hello, I'm not sure if I still have anyone actively following me after these couple of neglectful months! My apologies...a surprise trip to the hospital turned my life upside-down, but I am back scrapping again :)

Have you seen the amazing challenge over at Kraft Plus? It certainly gets you thinking...

This month we would like to see you scrap photos that are NOT square or rectangle. I adored the graphics on this inspiration board & was thinking of something similar to the bottom right, but couldn't quite get my photo cut like that. Here's what I finally came up with...

For those still following me & reading this, your continued support is very much appreciated <3 p="">Happy scrapping!

Hello February!

This year is already off to a flying start!
Here is the Kraft+ fabulous challenge for February...coastal chic...

Criteria: Kraft + sketch + colour (black & white can be added).

While I've used beach photos, as that is where the colour inspiration took me, please note, it doesn't have to be beach related.

I turned the sketch to suit my main landscape photo & basically stuck true to the sketch inspiration. Though instead of that gorgeous banner, I found an extremely old chipboard flourish, to represent the waves. Haha this simply justifies my need to hoard as I've finally found a use for this, which has probably been in my stash for at least 10 years!!!

I snapped these photos at sunset one afternoon. I could very easily sit for hours watching the waves come in...it's my soul restoration!
Pop over to the blog HERE to see the simply stunning creations from the rest of the team. I look forward to seeing what you come up with this month.

& because I've realised what a super slack blogger I am, here's my layout for last month's 'on your bike' challenge. Eeck! As usual, all the entries into this one were amazing! It's always so hard for us DT to choose winners & this month will be no exception...thank you for your participation :)

Thanks for stopping by & any comments you may leave, are very much appreciated :)
