ArtStacks share...

Hello all! Today I'm sharing another art journal page using the gorgeous designs from ArtStacks.

This has been created in my Dina Wakley 6x6 Kraft journal, it's such a brilliant size for quick pages and these Artist Series designs by Deb Weiers is a super easy way to put a page together.

I've painted the background with various colours of paint and stencils (Dina Wakley, The Creative Workshop and Kinder Kreations). I also journaled into the wet paint, but that doesn't really show up in photographs, but it does create a cool texture to the page. I've then added the tissue paper vines from Lisa Oxley's Floral Fetish pack. I've then added the stripped (easy tear) paper from Deb's Wonky Background pack. Then using Deb's Wonky Faces pack, I've cut out this fabulous girl in the shoe...she's the focal and title all in one! Add a few splatters and we are done!

More retreat creations...

Hello all! I hope this finds you well?

I'm here to share more creations from my recent retreat weekend. This page created in the original Dina Wakley art journal on the hessian page

Here I've used a lot of ArtStack Designs pack, a bit of a mix of them. A few left-over pieces and also the transparencies I've been creating of late...just slightly obsessed!

Retreat scrapping!

Hello! I was lucky enough to go to retreat last weekend. I was thrilled to have found a new venue and on the Northern Beaches, so exciting!

This is some of what I created. I only took my art journaling stuff, in an effort of limiting my packing...haha.

I started with this one, super easy start...using some leftover Dina Wakley collage paper which had figures already cut from it. Add on some tissue paper, again from Dina Wakley. The fern leaf is from a gorgeous scrappy friend, Ronnie.

The background is created with scribble sticks, as I had already started with purple...who knows what I was planning when I did it, but the rainbow worked. Lots of Dina Wakley products here, as well as the flower from ArtStacks.

I've had this piece from Michelle Logan for ages, it was one of those things that I kept for 'good', which is crazy, they are to be used right ;) Though before using it, I did trace it, to use again...I love the style.

This is the piece that I traced. The background got a little weird/lost, but...oh well! It was fun anyway.

This one was created using ArtStacks products, in particular the Deb Weiers packs, 'wonky faces' & 'wonky backgrounds' & the flower from 'all dressed up' pack.

I even managed to get some 'secret squirrel' pages done. It was a very productive weekend, as well as the laughs.

Thanks for stopping by, as always, it's appreciated.

Happy crafting!

ArtStacks Play...

Hello, how are you all? Today I have some more ArtStacks Design creations...I had so much fun creating this! After creating my previous 'grid page' I had to play again, learning from the mistakes I made previously, LOL though I still made different ones this time around ;) It's the fun of creating and learning, isn't it. The more you create, the more you learn.

This time, I wanted to use more of the little picture pieces, this time going with the people and faces. I realised the 'woof' and 'tweet' paper didn't quite work here, which made me think 'what do people say?' Haha I love this 'blah blah' stamp from Natalie May, so stamped that onto transparency to cut up around the page. I painted with acrylic paint onto the Kraft page and used black pen for my grid.

All papers here are from ArtStacks, I've used pieces from...

New 'Deb Weiers' Artist Series from ArtStacks

Hello! Have you seen the gorgeous new 'Deb Weiers' Artist Series from ARTSTACKS? I personally love Deb's 'Wonky' art, I'm a little bit in awe of her creations so have so much fun incorporating them into my art journals.

I saw on the Dina Wakley Supporter Group a grid design by her and I instantly thought something like that would be perfect for these little Deb Weiers art pieces. I have to confess I had a little trouble drawing the grid onto the Kraft paper, the white simply soaked in. So I put some clear gesso on the page and started again. I'm not sure if the white pen already on the page leached into the gesso or the fact that the clear gesso was old, but I was left with a bit of a 'milky' look to the page. Ooops, oh well, I was on a roll and not stopping for anything! After redrawing my grid, I then planned out my layout. The only pieces here not from the ArtStacks range is the little pieces of transperency.

I love the way this turned out, thankfully the 'milkiness' isn't as pronounced as it photographed. Here is a close-up of my page with Deb's fabulous pieces. If only I was as creative as that!

Make sure you pop over to the ArtStacks blog to see the other amazing creations from the rest of the team, you won't regret it...you'll find it HERE.

Kraft+ Challenge Blog!

Hello and welcome to November! Eeeck! The year is vanishing all too quick!

As always, a new month means a new challenge to get you inspired. This month over at Kraft+ Challenges, we want you to be inspired by SONG LYRICS!

Last month was the anniversary of my dad's death...30 years! It's hard to believe that I've lived longer without him, than with him. He was such a pivotal person in my life. So I've been thinking about him a LOT lately. Music certainly reminds me of him, so this art journal page is a dedication to him.

Jackson Browne and 'Running on Empty' is something we listened to on trips up the coast. That lead to car travel, which lead me to this figure from ArtStacks. Haha I did help that is was all still sitting on my desk from last creating time...seriously, who has time to tidy up! In fact, everything on this page is from ArtStacks.I printed the 'running on empty' lyrics onto transparency...another recent obsession since seeing the latest release from Dina Wakley.

Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you'll join us this month.

Happy crafting.
