December Kraft+ Challenge

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, or at least found some calm & peace for the day, with these continued stresses over covid. We can only hope the new year brings more normality...if that is at all possible?

Today, I'm sharing my incredibly late layout for this months Kraft+ Challenge 'Rainbow Love'. I just got it in by the skin of my teeth! LOL we won't discuss that I should have had it done prior to the month! December was a crazy one for me, working 5 days a week has been a shock to the system. I didn't get a chance to sit at my desk at all, so this layout has just sat there, so close to being finished, it was not funny.

This is also the 1st month without Amanda Hall creating our inspiration mood boards...eeeck! I have to confess, she is still very much with us in spirit, as she kindly sent me her files to create the boards. Even still, it's been a huge learning curve for me & I would call my mood boards the 'no frills, budget' version ;) I cannot thank Amanda enough for her kindness & generosity because I would seriously be lost without them.

I had the perfect range of papers for this challenge...'Colour Your World' from Kaszazz, including the stamps "Rainbows, word montage".

Everything here, except for the die for the banner can be found in my WebStore HERE This range was made for this challenge, or this challenge was made for this range ;)

A close up of those perfect rainbow stamps and elements...

Now to get cracking on the coming months challenge, because the new year will be here before we know it!

Have a safe and happy new year!

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy crafting.

Christmas with ArtStacks

Today I have an art journal page using ArtStacks tissue paper Christmas Quotes. Using the Dina Wakley 6x6 album, I created a background using Scribble Sticks and created a Christmas wreath. I coloured the under side of the tissue paper Christmas tree, again with the Scribble Sticks.

Christmas is coming...like a freight train ;) it's time to get into the spirit of it! LOL she says completely in denial.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting.

ArtStacks art journal play!

Hello, how are you? Today I'm sharing a follow up page to one that was done previously...with the cross window. Last time you got a peak at this page, now we peak back on the original ;)

This one is again using the fabulous 'altered ancestors', I love these quirky figures. I'm also using the new 'Trees and Leaves' Stack and other bits and pieces from their range.

Here I've created in my Dina Wakley Kraft journal, just adding a stripe of paint and some stamping on the background. I've then layered some scraps from previous creations and added the tissue paper flowers, the handcut circles, altered ancestor girl and the trees.

These peak-a-boo pages are so much fun to create, you can see the starts of a new page peaking out from behind, again using more of the 'altered ancestors' and scraps from coloured core stack.

Pop over to the ArtStacks blog to see the other amazing creations from the rest of the team HERE, you won't be disappointed.

ArtStacks - Peace on Earth

Hello! Today I'm sharing an art journal page using ArtStacks products using the Lorraine Haight Moraine CoreStack and Christian Christmas Quotes.

After painting my background black and flicking white gloss spray over it, I broke out the BigShot. From it, I cut the Tim Holtz Perspective butterfly our of the green coloured core stack. Also cutting out and edging one of the 'altered ancestors' to place in the middle of the butterfly. I always associate butterflies with angels, and we need angels for 'Peace on Earth'...or a miracle!

This one was a quick and easy one, but you need ones that like, especially this time of year.

Don't forget to pop over to the ArtStacks blog to see the other amazing creations from the rest of the team, you'll find that HERE.

Thank you for stopping by.

New Products from ArtStacks!

Have you seen the gorgeous new products from ArtStacks? The 'Trees & Leaves' Pack is so pretty, I had a lot of fun combing them with some of the other ArtStacks range.

Here I've created in my 6x6 Kraft art journal from Dina Wakley, cutting our a window or cross shape. Haha I had a huge session of cutting out loads of crosses, after seeing some brilliant creations by Michelle Logan. The cross window gives you a sneak of more ArtStack pages using the unique 'Altered Ancestors'

On this page I used the cardstock from the 'Artist Series' to die cut the doily and hand cut circles using the 'Parchment Effect Paper'. Adding some stenciling before adding an 'Altered Ancestor' and some of the latest leaves and title

Here is a close up of the 1st page...

September Kraft+ Challenge!

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz...

Spring would probably be my favourite time of year and this month's challenge over at Kraft+ Challenges would definitely be a favourite...

This month we want you to be inspired by the gorgeous work of artist Laura Horn. I adore her work, though it's not a style I do very often. Haha water-colours and doodling are a struggle for me, but something I would like to experiment more with. Not that I actually used water-colours in my piece, haha in my eagerness to start, I grabbed my Distress paints...not really sure how well water-colours would have worked on the Kraft on reflection anyway???

I created various coloured patches on my background in Tim Holtz distress paint, I would have liked it to be a bit more flowing and 'free' like Laura's, but that's not really me ;) that's probably where using water-colours works. Anyway, colours, doodling, which I did in pink and white paint and silver pen and die cut leaves where all inspired by Laura's gorgeous work.

You can see all the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team HERE.

Thank you for stopping by.

ArtStacks share...

Hello, it's my turn over at the ArtStacks blog. I'm sharing another art journal page using the fun range from Lorraine Haight Moraine @queenodella.

I started with a painted background in my 6x6 Kraft journal from Dina Wakley...I'm a tad addicted to this journal. I cut out some stenciled leaves from the 'Artist Series Back Stack' in blue and some random circles which I glued around the page. I then cut out the cat and man from the 'Artist Series Core Stack', plus the quote. Haha I thought the quote was quite fitting for the man...my husband is never wrong! LOL!

That's it from me today, make sure you pop over to the ArtStacks blog for more inspiration or have a closer look at the fabulous range of products.

August Kraft+ Challenge.

Hello and welcome to August! How quickly is this year going!!!

Today I'm sharing this month's brilliant Kraft+ Challenge...this month we want you to be

INSPIRED BY PIE GRAPHS

I know there is no actual cake on this inspiration, but that's what I thought of when I saw this challenge, so I went on the hunt for a 'cake' photo and because we have teamed up with 'Scrap the Boys' for this challenge, it had to be of my son. How lucky that I actually found one...what a cutie ;)

I cut 2 different size circles out of the 'Floral Splash' range from Kaszazz and cut 'pie' pieces out of them. I also 'pinched' Lizzy Crust's idea of using cogs in my background, such a clever idea on repeating that 'pie' image. All products used here are from Kaszazz and can be found in my Web Store.

Pop over to the Kraft+ Blog to see all the fabulous creations from the rest of the team, but also make sure you check out 'Scrap the Boys'...lucky for me, I've seen their amazing creations for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, happy creating!

ArtStacks play.

Hello to you. Today I'm sharing some creations using ArtStacks Designs.

Here I've used the new Kraft journal from Dina Wakley, I love the 6x6 size, so nice and easy to create a quick page. Here is a couple of 'quickies' for you.

I painted a green square on each page, outlining with pen. I've then layered strips of pianola paper, the book paper and the brown dressmakers tissue paper...all from The Homemaker CardStack to each page.

To this page I added the flower bouquet from the new Anemones and Friends CardStack.  The final addition is an ArtStacks title quote.

The 2nd page one is basically the same as above, though I've stamped the brown dressmakers tissue with a stencil and gloss spray and my feature is the figure from Faces and Figures pack.

ArtStacks with Lorraine Haight Moraine.

Hello, today I'm sharing an art journal page using the fabulous ArtStacks 'Artist Series' from Lorraine Haight Moraine @queenodella and I have to say...I'm loving it!

I had traced and cut out some (Dina Wakley) heads from the 'back stack' card...it's a lovely thickness to cut. As I'm not one to waste anything, this left over piece became the springboard for this page. I painted the background, to give the figures some colour, adding some journaling in white. I added some washi tape to the top as a boarder and a strip of the 'tissue paper' lines too. The title is more of the tissue paper words, I love them on the white background. My focal point was the delightful 'altered ancestor', the final addition being a die-cut 5, again out of the original 'back stack', because...why not!

And a close up of the main page...

ARTSTACKS Creations

Hello! I hope this finds you all well? Today I'm sharing a double art journal page using the gorgeous products from ArtStacks. Pop over HERE for more beautiful inspiration from the rest of the team.

For my page, I painted, stamped and stenciled sprayed the background across the 2 pages. I then stuck down the torn strip of the Paper Ruffles from The Dressmaker Pack. I love the texture of the stitching, even if I've not created a ruffle out of it. I then created each page as an individual art journal page. I'll do this a lot as I'm a bit anal about my pages matching...even if they are individual pages, I like them to co-ordinate and will take elements across both pages.

Here I've cut out the beautiful flowers from the canvas photo paper, found in The Homemaker Pack. I had cut various figures using a stencil, this one out of old music paper. Adding the butterflies and title from The Anemones and Friends CardStack.

For the next page, I added more of the figures, one out of the canvas photo paper...I just adore this paper, so gorgeous! The other 2 figures were out of kraft paper, which I stamped and the other coloured with gloss spray. I incorporated more of the book paper, as a circle and a title, again out of the new Anemones and Friends Cardstack. I also added the tissue paper flowers, which I coloured in with Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks.

Here is the 2 pages together, as you would see in the art journal...

This almost completes this journal, though I've already started on a couple of new ones. Haha I have several on the go at once, as I'm a bit of a journal hopper, as one page dries, I move onto the next, hence why I struggle with the idea of videoing my creations...it's all a bit random.

Thank you for stopping by...any comments you may leave me, are much appreciated.

Happy crafting!

Art Journaling with ARTSTACKS!

 Hello lovely people.

Today I'm sharing some more art journaling using the gorgeous products from ArtStacks.

The background is created using Dina Wakley paints and stencil, with a bit of stamping with Kaszazz background stamp. I had created the tag months and months ago. I was from a gel plate session, which I added to while creating one of my earliest ArtStacks pages...the window feature, where I had to paint the other side of the figure. There is no point wasting this opportunity to use a figure (Faces and Figures Pack) as a mask, so that's what I did here and this tag has been waiting to be used. The colours worked perfectly with the background and with one of the latest paper dolls (Dressmaker Pack). I added a handcut semi circle from some book paper (The Homemaker Cardstack) and a title (Faces and Figures Pack). There is also a little torn strip of the paper ruffle (The Dressmaker Pack), just under the title. I love the added texture the stitching and loose threads create on this.

The botanical leaf is created using the stencil of a beautiful friend...how cool is it, thank you Ronnie.

Here is a bit of a close-up of my page, showing off those 2 fabulous ArtStack figures...

July Kraft+ Challenge.

Have you seen this month's fabulous challenge over at Kraft+ Challenges...

 it's all about GRAPHIC LAYERING.

I took colour inspiration from the mood board and started with a combination of green paints with a stencil. To keep up with the layering concept, I added some collage paper from Dina Wakley, keeping with the graphic look. After adding a couple of figures, which took WAY too long to figure out whether it should be 1, 2 or 3, I added a final layer of more painted triangles. It was finished off with some gloss spray speckles and a title and we were essentially done.

Pop over to the Kraft+ blog to see the rest of the DT's fabulous GRAPHIC LAYERING creations, you'll find it HERE

Retreat creations.

Hello! Last month I was lucky enough to go to retreat...such a treat! This was our 28th retreat and our 10th year, certainly something to celebrate...and we did!

For ease of packing, I stick with all my Kaszazz products. LOL that's still an embarrassingly lot!

I finished off an art journal page which was started an eternity ago. I'm not really sure where I was originally going with it, but it finally came together after a slow start.

The background is created using Dylusions paint. The stamped fish are coloured in with alcohol ink pens (TriBlend).

Again, this background had been started previously, this time using Distress Paints. The collage papers are the new Home Sweet Home collage papers from Kaszazz. I cut out the cute little houses individually and stuck them down.

Here are close-ups of the journal spread, showing the cute Home Sweet Home Collage Papers and the background stamping.

I also did a bit of scrapbooking, haha I know, it's been a while. Here I've used the 'Spring Meadow' range..it's such a pretty range.

All products used can be purchased through Kaszazz, you can find my Web Store HERE. I am also happy to help with any needs.

Thank you for stopping by.

June Kraft+ Challenge

Hello, how are you all? It's officially Winter here, perfect weather to be staying indoors and crafting...which is exactly what I have done. Haha we won't mention that it's super late for this month's challenge over at Kraft+ Challenges. I was lucky enough to be at retreat, but the layout I started for this challenge, didn't fit as well as another that I had started and ended up putting aside for another challenge. Anyway, in case you haven't seen the fabulously bright and fun challenge for K+, here it is...

I loved the brightness of the colours and of course all the circles and stripes of the candy, which is what lead me to this...

I used a mix of Dylusions and Distress paints for my background, using the circular gel plate...all of which you can buy through my Kaszazz Web Store, in fact all the products used for this layout, you can find HERE. I created stripes on my gel plate before stamping it randomly around my page. I watered down some of the Distress paint to create drips down my page for my defined stripes.I added some stripey paper from Floral Splash Collage Paper Pads. I didn't have any chipboard that I could spell out 'life is sweet', but 'Home Sweet Home' worked well for the photos and the challenge.

How cute is this chipboard from the 'Home Sweet Home' pack, I popped out the insert of the tree and used it separately on the house.

Pop over to the Kraft+ Challenge Blog to see the gorgeous layouts created by the rest of the team, you'll find it HERE.

Thank you for stopping by, it's much appreciated.

ArtStacks Play...don't forget to play!

Hello! Today I'm sharing a quick art journal page using the little 6 inch Dina Wakley white art journal to showcase my ArtStacks goodies. After creating a very quick and easy background of paint and gloss spray, which were both painted on. I added the Tim Holtz butterfly, as I was also using the butterflies from ArtStacks Anemones and Friends Corestack, adding one of the butterflies as wings to the cut-out doll from the new Dressmaker CardStack. I love that these dolls now come in a variety of colours.

With the addition of a title from the Words of Wisdom MiniStack and the page is done. Sometimes life only allows you quick and easy, there is certainly nothing wrong with that!

Thanks for stopping by.

I meant to behave...

Hello, today I have an art journal page in my 8 inch square Dylusions journal using loads of ArtStack Designs products. I hope you like it, I certainly had fun creating it.
First I started with the roses on vintage music paper from The Homemaker Limited Edition pack, tearing it, to place on either end of the journal page. Adding paint and stenciling across both pages, with more paint and texture paste. I added another layer with Distress Oxide, repeating the stenciling.
While the background dried, I glued down the gorgeous tissue paper girl from the Faces and Figures CoreStack to the pianola paper from The Homemaker pack, allowing some of the words from the pianola paper to show through and the tiny dots. I added flowers to match the border from The Homemaker pack and some from the Anemones and Friends CardStack behind the girl and around the page. Of course no page is complete without a butterfly or 3 ;) My title is from the new Witty Words MiniStack, which I simply cut out into strips.

A close-up of the girl to see the subtle dots of the pianola paper underneath the tissue paper...

In honour of Mother's Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day, whether you are a mum, grandma or daughter. Lucky for me, I got some time to play...so good! I had just received my pack from 'ArtStacks Design' so couldn't help but grab some of their pretties. Starting with this bunch of flowers from their Anemones and Friends Corestack, so perfect for Mother's Day...or any day for that matter ;)

I had created the background with a mixture of Dina Wakley paints, plus a Tim Holtz stencil, as well as Dina Wakley gloss sprays. Though rather than spraying them, I poured the last bits on my page. Adding the words of wisdom ministack for my title. I love their tissue paper, so easy to tear and use.

Here is the full double page of my art journal. It's so easy to fill a double with this mini art journal album from Dina Wakley.

Thank you for stopping by, it's much appreciated.

FOCUS ON FACES - Kraft+ Challenge

This month's challenge over at Kraft+ Challenges is FOCUS ON FACES. This month we are teaming up with the 'More Than Words' team, so you can enter both challenges with one! How easy is that!

Here's my take on the challenge...luckily I have a few Kraft pages left in my Dina Wakley art journal...

I broke out my Dina Wakley products to create my 'Face your Fears' page ;) from the paint in the background, to the stamps and finally the gorgeous face from her Collage Collective.

My title is created used these cute little letter stamps from Stampin Up!

I hope you'll join us, check out the rest of the gorgeous creations from the team HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate the visits.
