September Kraft+ Challenge!

I know technically the month is over, but thought I would still share on here a final art journal page I did for the September Kraft+ COLOUR CHALLENGE, using blue, red, orange & yellow. It all started again while I was tidying up my scrap area & found this...

How perfect are these colours for the months challenge, it's like it was made for it or the challenge was made for these! LOL I just had to use them! They are Natalie May's 'Words of Wisdom" flat Magicals.

The background red is Dina Wakley paint, but everything else is these Magicals, including the blue texture paste over the red. I simply added some of the magicals to the texture paste before swiping through a stencil. I created plain backgrounds with the colours, then cut out some dies with Tim Holtz mannequin die. I've also added thread to the spools from the same die set. I had so much fun creating this and isn't that what this is all about!

I also put my dies through an embossing folder to give them some texture...now that is something that has been very much neglected for years! Also punching out some flowers from the same watercoloured backgrounds.

Here is a closeup of my page "embrace beautiful chaos" which I thought was quite fitting considering the business of this and the fact that these were found in my mess ;)

Don't forget to check in soon for the new months challenge.

Happy crafting!

"Outsider" with ArtStacks.

Hello! I'm sharing my latest creations using the new ArtStacks  new 'Wings & Things' and 'All Dressed Up' packs. These packs are perfect for combining, as I have done here...

I did a bit of a water-wash in 'night' paint for my background and then scribbled and splattered ink around. I cut a circle from Deb Weiers Wonky Backgrounds. I added a circle around the word 'outstider' using some of the 'easy-tear paper' from Lisa Oxley's Bright & Bold pack. Also adding a strip of paper from the same pack of Lisa's. The leaf was cut from Lorraine Haight Moraine BackStack. With the final addition of the figure with wings from the two new packs. I love that I've been able to combine various packs together, even though each 'artist' is very different, they have blended well together.
Thanks for stopping by, it's much appreciated.

New post for ArtStacks!

Hello! I'm sharing another art journal page using the gorgeous designs from ArtStacks!

Again, I'm using my DWM 6x6 Kraft journal, it's such a fun and quick size to create in and I do love how the colours 'pop' on it! My background consists of various colours of paint (Dina Wakley) and stencils (TCW, Dylusions and Kinder Kreations). Also a little bit of stamping (Natalie May Scrapbooking)

I've used a mix of ArtStacks packs for this page. Firstly, I layered the leaves from the 'Trees and Leaves #1' pack, then added the figures from the 'Lorraine Haight Moraine Altered Ancestors' pack. Finally adding a title of 'word matter' from the 'Deb Weiers Wonky Faces' pack. The final touch is a few splatters with gloss spray in white.

Kraft+ September Challenge

Hello all, can you believe it's September! I always love September as it's the beginning of Spring, which I admit is my favourite season...& it's not just because it's my birthday month. I love the warmer days...boy do we need them, I love the fragrance of all the Spring flowers, the ability to throw open the windows and let some fresh air in. Anyway, you are not here for my ramblings...

This months challenge over at Kraft+ is a colour challenge...red, orange, yellow and blue!

Aren't they beautiful together ;)

Excuse my wonky photograph...it's not always easy in the art journals...I probably should have chopped off the bottom of my page. Hehe that's the Virgo in me coming out ;)

I'm loving the Dina Wakley Kraft journal, the paper is brilliant to work on, lovely firm and smooth. I spead yellow and orange paint with a credit card on my background. Adding red through a stencil. I stamped out my Dina Wakley heads, adding a body and big hair, to add in my blue. Journaling along the lines of the hair.

ArtStack share...

Hello, I'm here today to share some ArtStacks creations...

For this page, I've used a combination of a few ArtStacks packs, including the most recent "Wings and Things"...I'm seriously in love with theses wings, they are all so beautiful.

From the 'Anemones & Friends' Pack, I cut a scallop border. Layering a leftover piece of the 'pianola paper' from the 'Homemaker' Pack and a manila tag.which had been stamped with Natalie May stamp. I cut out a figure from Deb Weiers Wonky Background. Adding the red wings from the most recent pack.

Deep inside you there is Magic.

Hello, I hope this finds you well.

I'm here to share more gorgeous designs from ArtStacks Designs products using the new packs...

"All Dressed Up" and "Wings & Things"

I've used a combination of both theses packs, they mix so perfectly. Also with the addition of some pieces from Lisa Oxley's Floral Fetish pack.

After creating a background with paint and stencils, I layered a tag over the background so the winged boy didn't get completely lost on the background. Layering an leftover stripe from the Floral Fetish pack, as well as a piece of rippable paper from the same pack. I loved this boy, the sheer happiness on his face, so also cut out the toadstool to add a bit of fun and quirkiness. Adding the title, as there is always 'magic' as a child. How gorgeous are these wings, who doesn't love wings, especially as gorgeous as these.

Here is a close-up of the winged boy...

August Kraft+ Challenges

Hello all! How beautiful is this sun, it feels like Spring is in the air...well certainly in Sydney it does and I'm super excited about that! We've had enough rain to last us several months.

I'm sure by now you've seen the challenge over at Kraft+ Challenges...I'm just super behind! A reminder for you...it's all about embracing your handwriting!

I'll confess, like many, I'm not a fan of my handwriting, but I'm well aware of the emotional significance of it. Haha I've kept an old shopping list from my father, because if brings back memories of him on a far more personal level then other items. Unfortunately we don't write as much as we did, with the emergence of technology. So I've hidden my handwriting behind tags that pull out to read.

I've created in the new bigger Dina Wakley Kraft journal, it's so lovely to create with. I love the weight of the paper and the smoothness. It would be fabulous to see more art journalers join us.

I left the manila tags as a set of 3, so you can pull on the top one and read the journaling, which is about why I art journal.

I do hope you'll join us this month. You can pop over HERE to see the amazing creations from the rest of the team. You can also see the amazing creations from our Kraft+ Community Facebook page, they are certainly a talented bunch.

Thanks for stopping by, it's always appreciated.
