Hello May

Seriously, where did April go??? Once again, this year is rushing away from me all too fast...thankfully, not as drama filled as last year! Which brings me to this month challenge over at Kraft+

This month's challenge is super easy, with the inclusion of a date on your layout...that's it! It opens up so much freedom for your creation.

Here's mine...

I've included loads of dates on my layout. I recorded the events of 2017, which was far from my finest year & all round, pretty scary. I simply recorded the facts, I wasn't up for the full emotion of it all. At the time of creating this, I had planned to do another page with some hidden journaling, but now I'm not sure. This layout was definitely 'art therapy' & I've been able to put a lot of the emotion surrounding this past year behind me & remind myself how frickin' lucky I am!
As always, the rest of the DT have created some gorgeous creations, check them out HERE. I hope you have fun with this month's challenge.

April Kraft+ Challenge!

This month at Kraft+ we have a fabulous 'recipe challenge' to inspire you...

Here's my take on the challenge...

Something 'old'...this bit was right up my alley, haha I have sooooo much old stuff in my stash! I'm a self confessed hoarder, does anyone else do this? Buy something you absolutely love, only to save it for something 'special' & it then sits & sits. Anyway, as I said, this criteria was super easy for me...the background was old, one that I had created & rejected for whatever I was working on at the time. The patterned paper, the metal elements & the sequins are all over a year+ old from my stash.
Something 'new'...that was the little rose bud sticking up out of the chipboard feather.
Something 'borrowed'...well the photo is one of Louise's, as well as the tissue paper technique (though what Louise does with tissue paper is totally gorgeous).
Something 'blue'...I have used blue mist, paper, flower & glitter.

I hope you enjoy this challenge as much as I did. Check out the blog for the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team HERE

By now I'd say you've seen this month's fabulous challenge over at Kraft+, hopefully you've also joined in.
This month we have a gorgeous sketch to inspire you & to also include fussy cutting...

Here's my take on the challenge...

February Kraft+ 'ABBA inspired' challenge!

Yikes, I'm one slack blogger! I have to confess I'm loving the ease of use with Instagram these days, if you are on Instagram, you'll find me @paulap5p_scrap.

How brilliant is this month's challenge over at Kraft+, I love it! I was super excited by this challenge, as it took me back to my childhood, those carefree days ;) Sadly, or thankfully, there is no photo of my 10 year old self in that 'ABBA Arrival' t-shirt that I owned, so I took inspiration from Amanda's gorgeous graphics & the colours of ABBA albums.

The challenge...

My take on the challenge...

I created my background with this gorgeous Flutterby Designs stencil and a mix of texture paste and Dylusions spray, I love the results! My title is a ABBA song title. You can't help by sing along with their songs, thankfully for me, they bring happy memories & are very uplifting.
I hope you have fun celebrating the music ;)

Janurary Kraft+ 'Caffeine Hit' Challenge.

Happy New Year all! I hope you've had a brilliant start to the new year and 2018 brings you great things. I'm personally looking forward to a bit of 'health & happiness' & a lot less drama! Haha though within an hour of the new year, the dramas had already hit me...I've since realised, I don't have to 'invest' in such dramas, it's time I learn to step away. It's easier said than done, when it involves your kids, but mine aren't kids anymore & it's time to put myself back on the list of priorities.
Anyway, enough about me, here's the fabulous Kraft+ challenge...

I have to confess, I'm a huge lover of coffee & simply adored this challenge when I saw it. Though these days when I think of coffee, it's a rather bitter sweet memory for me, as I've given it up for health reasons. So my layout is taking a light hearted look of giving up my beloved coffee & the end of our relationship!
For my background, I've used the 'reverse stamped' image of the 'Flutterby Design' skull stencil. It was also nice to pull out my old 'BoBunny' stain stamps with some 'Tim Holtz' distress ink.

Thank you for stopping by & thanks for any comments you may leave. I really appreciate each & every one of them x

123 Challenge Blog!

Hello! I managed to get a couple of challenges done while at a recent retreat...yay! The challenge over at 123 Challenge Blog was also one...

Here is my take on the challenge...

For the background I used a combination of blue & green colour blast mist...I do love the shimmer they leave, sadly it doesn't really photograph that well. I painted the chipboard grey, adding a few splashes around the place. This photo was taken after storms, the sea was like a large washing machine, yet there is still some idiot out there risking life & limb for a thrill! It's possibly hard to see, but there is someone 'chain surfing' on the edge of the pool. Haha I must be getting old, because it doesn't look at all thrilling to me ;)
Thanks for stopping by...& a huge thank you for any comments you may leave me. I truly do appreciate each & every one of them x

Scrap the Girls

As I said on Facebook...take a seat, because I have scrapped a challenge layout!!! Haha too early to say the drought is over, but it certainly felt good. When I saw the challenge over at Scrap the Girls, I immediately knew which photo to scrap...too easy, gotta love challenges like that!

Here is their challenge...

The quote for this challenge certainly applies to my girl. Here's my take...
