I simply adored the mood board over at Scrap Around The World this month...though I normally do ;) Isn't it gorgeous...
This is my take on the inspiration...
At the recent Delights retreat, a number of the ladies were playing with various 'Bloom' girls. What they did was so inspiring that I had to purchase one myself. Here I've mixed black paint & texture paste together & used with the stencil. I then coloured her in using watered down dylusions & a paint brush. Then with more texture paste & blue dylusions mixed together, I created a paste for the butterflies. This mixture was a bit thin or watery with the dylusions, so the butterflies did 'bleed' a bit. I think I personally prefer the mix of paint & texture paste for next time.
Thanks for stopping by. As always, a huge thank you for all your lovely comments...I do appreciate the time you take to leave me one x

PS. There is still a couple more days to get your entries in for Show Us Your Stuff & 123 Challenge Blog, if you haven't already done so...we'd love to see your take on the challenges.

Show us your Stuff!
Good morning! This month over @ Show us your Stuff, team member Chloe created a fabulous sketch for you all to create with. I love a good sketch, it takes a lot of the thinking out ;) Remember with your sketch, you also need to include a handmade item.
I found this sketch super easy to work with...this is my take on it...
My handmade items are the fabric flower from Forever Always...been saving that for a while ;) & the gorgeous flair from Flutterby Designs. You'll notice a lot of their flairs featuring on my layouts of late...I'm absolutely loving them! :)
Also happy that I managed to get through some really old Basic Grey papers & lettering. I seriously hoard too much!
Pop over HERE to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team, I love everyone's take on this sketch. I do hope you'll join us this month.

HeART & Soul presented by The Color Room.
Another gorgeous colour palette over @ The Color Room this month...
As well as the colour palette, your household item of use is a credit card. I used the credit card to apply my painted background.
Check HERE for the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team, they are amazing!
Thanks for stopping by...more monthly challenges will be posted soon.

October 123 Challenge Blog.
Another month has past...they are seriously going too quickly! This month I'm challenging myself to participate in more scrap challenges, so if you have any to recommend...let me know, I would love to hear from you.
I hope you'll all join in over @ 123 Challenge Blog this month...I had a lot of fun creating my layout for this one...
A close up of my details...
I initially created a watercolour background adding some stamping in both distress & stazon ink. To create a bolder effect I then heat embossed the swirls.
Check out the gorgeous inspiration from the DT HERE.

Retreat layouts!
As mentioned in the previous post, I was lucky enough to go to the Delights Retreat at the beginning of the month. I didn't get a great deal of scrapping done...had been sick & I tend to get very distracted at retreats ;)
I'm sure you can already pick who's class this one was for...the very vibrant Lisa Oxley! I so love her style & she is a simply gorgeous lady! It was fabulous to get some colour happening :)
There were so many surprises over the weekend from the very generous Sandra...here I've used one of the organza bags with ties behind the photo.
This next one was for a challenge...

Gelatos Class at Delights Retreat!
A few weekends ago I was lucky enough to go to the Delights Retreat with the very entertaining Sandra Staples! She held 4 of the most fabulous classes...this layout was inspired or rather 'lifted' from the lovely Leonie ;) I've always been a huge fan of her backgrounds, so it was really fun to see how she created them using Gelatos. Haha let's say...I'm now the proud owner of some ;)
You can see samples of her brilliant background class HERE.
I will hopefully get to share more of my classes soon...sadly not much time to play lately :/

123 Challenge Blog - September Mid Month reveal.
The mid-month reveal is up over @ 123 Challenge Blog...to see the reveal, look HERE.
A reminder of the challenge...khaki, "emphasise" & hidden jounaling.
Here is my take on the challenge...
I actually struggled to find a lot of khaki, but have loved that I've used some really old papers that has been collecting for a while ;) My hidden journaling is in the envelope with the tags. Haha I also struggled with the title, but finally came up with "one cannot emphasise enough the importance of pausing to enjoy the moment"...a rather long winded one, but it suits this photo taken on the stairs of the 'National Museum of China' overlooking Tiananmen Square...a freakishly long time ago!
Thanks for stopping by! As always, a huge thank you for your lovely comments...they do mean the world to me & I appreciate the time you take to leave me one x
