WW1

What I really love about challenge blogs, etc. is that they can push you out of your comfort zone & make you think about things you've not tried before. So, considering I've never used a banner on my scrapping, the January WW1 challenge of White + Navy Blue or Royal Blue + Banners, really grabbed my attention!

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that takes the time to stop & comment...I really do appreciate your lovely feedback! :)
Happy Scrapping!!!
... & best wishes to those returning to school tomorrow...I know the excitement is building in our household...not! LOL ;)

Scrapping update!

I've managed to get back into scrapping the last couple of days...

This layout was for Manon's Monthly Challenge over @ Scrapboutique using Ali Edwards one word challenge. My word for this year is nurture. I love how this has turned out...though I have to say a big thank you, to my lovely friend Lou, who took this photo last year. I'm finding anytime I need a pic, I turn to the one's she took of me :) it may be time to get a new set done with this talented lady...hint, hint ;)

This photo of my baby brother has been bouncing around my scrap desk for a while now...nothing seemed to come together. After applying Kerryn's ABC Challenge over @ Scrapbook Savvy, it came together in a snap! OK, I stayed within my comfort zone using 'S' for stamping & staples :) but am pleased with the results...& how brilliant to have Canada on the October Afternoon papers!

Thank you as always for your lovely comments, I do appreciate them :)
Happy scrapping!

Art Journal update.

Happy Australia Day everyone! Hope everyone enjoys their day...it's certainly hot here, not sure how it will affect our day!!!
With the new year upon us, we set back to work on our floors...so without access to my scrap desk, not much has been happening! BUT, I did make an effort to keep up with my art journal :) warning...long post ahead!

I've always wanted to play with napkins after seeing it in SBM, so now was my chance!

The next few pages were started during our work on the floors...I simply grabed my trusty watercolour pencils & masks, later adding to them.

Absolutely love Tim Holtz alcohol inks...who knew you could buy air in a can, LOL well I didn't till I watched one of his demo's!

Here I stamped repeatively a flower stamp to create the background & then I added the envelope for some private journaling.

Jan 123 Challenge.

It's the 3rd of the month & I've already completed a challenge...gotta love that feeling!!! :)

Here is my 123 Challenge...the criteria was, colour - purple; word - beautiful; technique - punches. I've used my Tattered Angels glimmer screens with Plum glimmermist, to match the very gorgeous Webster's Pages diecut & used a border punch on the purple cardstock. This is a photo of my DD & I mucking around with the camera at the table on Christmas day. Love this photo...her eye came out so blue in it & I think she's simply beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by...& as always, I very much appreciate your lovely comments :)

Happy scrapping!

Art Journal Every Day.

Firstly, here is my fav shot of the fireworks...as I said before, I've still got a lot to learn when using my camera! Hehe there is no fireworks mode to assist me ;)

As mentioned yesterday, I've joined the Art Journal Every Day over @ Balzer Designs...

This is day one...
Guess you would call this my title page, highlighting some of the things I'm hoping to get out of all this! I've embossed my tattered angels tree stamp in clear after glimmermisting in key lime tart, then continued to mist in various colours. Also made good use of some of my stamps :)

Day two...
Since my word (as per Ali Edwards; One Little Word) for 2011 is NURTURE, this was no better place to start. I wanted to create a feminine type of page...hehe pinks & purples are so not my usual colours, for me personally, but it's what I wanted to go with! Again, I've played with my trusty glimmermists (promise...no glimmermist tomorrow), masks & stamps. Used stamped packaging & the Big Shot to create the heart.
Thanks for stopping by...your lovely comments are always appreciated :)
Happy scrapping!

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a brilliant start to the new year & not feeling too tender today!

We had a fab night...dinner on the beach & watched the 9pm fireworks, then home for 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show', which finished just in time to watch the midnight fireworks on TV. I managed to get a few photos of the fireworks...hehe, I've still got a lot to learn in the art of photography ;) will post my fav later.

Whilst blog hopping this morning, I noticed this on Nicole Pomeroy's blog. Since yesterday, after visiting Lisa Warren's blog, I've been thinking about what word would suit my 2011...after much thought, I had come up with NURTURE, so when I read this line "This is about taking time to nurture your creative self every single day." I was totally hooked!

Looks like I'm hitting the shops today for an art book :)
