Scrapping update!

Hello! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break over Easter...it vanished all too quick for us here.
Can you believe we are at the end of another month!!! I'm looking forward to sharing the new challenges for the new month with you soon. In the meantime, here are a few layouts I've completed recently.

Sadly, this is not one of my photos, it's one my sister snapped on her holiday...this & other destinations are on my 'bucket list'!

I used clear gel medium with the gorgeous Tim Holtz mask to create the dot background...I love the subtle texture it created.

"Exquisite Beauty" was completed at retreat a couple of months ago...totally missed this one. I love this photo of my gorgeous girl, it was actually snapped by my husband. LOL he was supposed to get a shot of her outfit, but most impressed he got this ;)

This layout was inspired by all the gorgeous creations from the "Pop & Colours" classes over @ Shirel Studio. Don't get me wrong...I did not participate in the classes, unfortunately :( I think it would have been amazing, but time was a factor for me. Though from what I've seen, time & money well spent!

That's it from me today...thank you for stopping by! I huge thank you for your lovely comments, I do appreciate the time you take to leave me one :)
Happy scrapping!

HeART&Soul by The Color Room!

Good morning...today I bring you my 1st official DT layout for HeART & Soul by The Color Room!

*Please note the last colour is dark brown...this layout isn't my first take on the challenge ;) I thought it was black, but lucky for me, that layout has already been picked up for publication. I did rather love it! :)

Hehe this also wasn't my 1st attempt with this colour palette...I really struggled with the brown, but am really happy with this final layout! Being the hoarder that I am, I had this 'SpongeBob' tag put aside. I loved playing with my new templates...using a mix of mist, paint & distress ink.

I do hope you'll join in with TCR palette#167!
Thanks for stopping by, as always...a huge thank you for your lovely comments! I do appreciate the time you take to leave me one :)

Kraft It Up!

Hello again...where has this day gone??!! :/

April's challenge for Kraft It Up has gone live...check it out!
It's a 'bits & pieces' challenge...create a layout using Kraft and at least 5 of the following six items...
Layers, Sequins, Mists/Paints/Gelatos, Tearing or Distressing, Stamping, & finally, Arrows or Triangles.

This is what I came up with...hehe using all 6 ;)

I initially misted the background with my dot template, then used paint with the next 2 templates (arrow & splat), followed by inking the very cute 'Life Bits' templates. I can see I'm going to have to get more of these...they are very cool! Some stamping & lots of layers with torn edges, which to be honest after seeing Christin's "15 minute layering video", I used her technique of stapling the layers together...talk about a time saver, simply brilliant! Then a final addition of some sequins :)

Have a look at the rest of the teams creations here...I do hope you'll join us this month!

Thank you for stopping by...as always, thanks for your lovely comments! I really do appreciate the time you take to leave me one :)

Show us your Stuff April challenge.

The April challenge over @ Show us your Stuff is super yummy!!!

Take inspiration from the following image...let us know what inspired you & remember your handmade item, made by yourself or someone else.

I took inspiration from those delicious circles & colours...

I had previously created the background with texture paste, so it worked perfectly with this challenge. I added the painted circles using distress paints & what is becoming a favourite TCW template...just love circles ;) & if that wasn't enough circles, I added more with a smaller template & ink!
For my handmade item, I thought I would give washi feathers a try. I've been admiring them around the place & they looked super easy to create...which they were!

I created them using the same Tim Holtz tape in the layout, & adding the distress paint used in the layout to each. I loved how they turned out! Below is a close up of that spotted background created using texture paste, paint, distress ink, a touch of water colour crayons & mist :)

Check out the fabulous creations from the other DT here. I do hope you'll give this months challenge a try.
