Art Journaling with ArtStacks!

Hello! I've had more creative play with the fabulous ArtStacks paper products. This was my first time creating on the denim page in the Dina Wakley Blue Journal. I thought the flowers from the 'Anemones and Freinds' pack worked beautifully with the denim. I had stenciled on the background and used a torn tag, upside down to imitate a vase. The words scattered around are also from this pack, which I added a bit of water-coloured pencil to, for added colour.

ArtStacks play...

Hello! I'm here to share more of my art journal play using the gorgeous ArtStacks products.

First I added colour to my background...one quick and easy way is spreading paint with a credit card. This is a bit of a favourite method of mine, less overthinking ;) There is also a pour of gloss spray in the turquoise...absolutely no control there.

I then added some stenciling in more turquoise and yellow. Then adding extra yellow ink to create drips down the page, with the aim to bring out the yellow in the centre of the flower that is being held in the hands. This is such a beautiful piece, which you'll find in the 'Anemones and Friends' Corestack. From that same pack, I added the tissue paper flowers around the page, starting at the wrist to give the impression of a tattoo.

I added butterflies and a title, again from the 'Anemones and Friends' pack. With an 'All' pencil, I went around the hands to create shadowing, spraying with water to activate the pencil and to create a grungy look on the hands.

A close up to show how gorgeous that tissue paper is...there is absolutely no signs of it, just the image. I love it!

Pop over to the ArtStacks website, where you'll find loads of inspiration from the rest of the team, as well as their full range of ArtStacks packs.

ArtStacks Share.

Hello again! Today I'm also sharing another art journal page using the gorgeous ArtStacks products. I'll be honest, this background was started the December Kraft+ Neon challenge, but it wasn't panning out like I had wanted, so it was tossed aside. I revisited it when I picked up the pink cut-out girl from ArtStacks.

With some clever covering up with a stamped torn tag and the pretty ArtStack pink cut-out girl and flowers from the Anemones and Friends Corestack, I am finally happy with the end result. I also added some butterflies, again from the 'Anemones and Friends' pack, because who doesn't love a butterfly or two...though 3 is always preferable when it comes to design ;)

As always, I edged my cut-outs with black texta/paint pen to remove any 'white' edges. This just gives it a more polished look. With the addition of a title, again from the 'Anemones and Friends' pack, my page is done.

Pop over to the ArtStacks blog to see the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team, you'll find it HERE.

Sharing the ArtStacks love!

Hello! I'm loving the versatility of the ArtStacks papers and designs. Here I've used a mix of their tissue paper which I adore...so easy to tear and once stuck down, invisible to see, and their coloured card. The card is thicker than paper, giving it stability, but not too thick that it's hard to cut. The added the beauty of these designs is you can also get them digitally...the best of both worlds!

I've used products from the 'Anemones and Friends' pack (tissue paper flowers, cut-out figure and butterfly) and the 'Faces and Figures' pack (hands and title).

Thank you for stopping by.

December Kraft+ Challenge!

The Kraft+ Challenge is live, this month it's a colour challenge...easy right!

NATURALLY NEON...because it is a challenge after all ;)

I typically don't have neon, anything, but when doing a clean-up of the kids old crafting box, I found just what I needed. Haha exactly what I needed actually...pink & yellow neon paint.

Some close-ups of my art journal to show the details...

A bit of Dina Wakley stamps, Tim Holtz stamps and stencil, basket weave paper from Kaszazz...so perfect!

"Life in Full Colour" is a phase from ArtStacks 'Faces and Figures' Corestacks.

Check out all the colourful inspiration from the rest of the team HERE, the ladies have certainly rose to the challenge and created some amazing layouts.

Thank you for stopping by.

November Kraft+ Challenge!

Hello! I hope this finds you all well? I'm a bit slow this month with the November Kraft+ Challenge...eeck! I'm sure you've all seen the fabulous A BUG'S LIFE CHALLENGE by now, but finally, here's my take on it.

I loved this inspiration board when I saw it and had loads of ideas, as I do have lots of bug stamps, stencils and embellishments. Unfortunately, I was hit with an awful dose of Shingles and haven't been able to sit or focus on much at all. I've finally had the energy to set up a stand-up desk to create at and had a play today...yay!

"Butterfly"...I ended up doing an art journal page, mainly using Dina Wakley products, except for this old Kaszazz butterfly stamp, which I absolutely love.

If you haven't already, make sure you check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team HERE.

ArtStacks

Hello to you! I’m a little (very) excited to share my first project for the ArtStacks Team!

After receiving my packs, the hardest thing was to choose which I was going to start with first, as it all inspired me in one form or another. What finally spoke to me the loudest was the clear windows from the ‘Doors and Windows’ pack, as I immediately saw see-through pages. I’m truly in love with those peak-a-boo type pages. This ended up so, so different from my usual style and I love that!

Firstly, I cut out the windows I wanted to use, and traced them onto my page. I had a gel-printed background already created.

With a sharp blade, I cut the windows, slightly smaller than the traced lines, so I had something to glue the windows to. Remember to have a cutting mat between your pages so you are only cutting the one.

I went around the cut windows with a black texta to remove the stark white now created, as well and any cut pieces I was using, like the figure, from the 'Faces & Figure' pack and the cat, from the original 'Doors and Window' pack.

Before gluing down the windows, I added some tissue paper and stenciled brickwork and branches around the page to create a rustic old building effect.

I added the potted flowers to one window & the cat to another…both from ‘Doors and Windows’ pack. I loved the cat had a mirror image of itself, which lead to an easy 2nd ‘flip’ page. The girl in the window is from the ‘Faces and Figures’ pack, which I coloured-in with black gesso on the back for my 2nd page.

The quotes on both pages are from the ‘Doors and Windows’ pack. Here's the final two pages, front and back.

...and the other side...

I had a lot of fun creating these pages, as I said, something very different from my usual style which is always fun!

You can see my blog post on the ArtStacks page HERE.

Weekend play...

Yippee! I actually got to play this weekend...soooo good!

I had recently purchased the new 'Collage Paper Pad' and some stencils from Kaszazz, so was very keen to create with them. I love the Type stencil...I've always been a fan of everything letters or numbers.

All the products you can see here can be purchased from Kaszazz and my Webstore, which you can find HERE. They also have the new Dylusions paint with the flip-top lid...absolutely loving that! So much easier to get a small dollop of paint out than those old jars.

Here are some close-ups of my art journal page...

Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully you too had a crafty weekend.

Happy crafting!

October Kraft+ Challenge - Crazy about Chalk!

This month over at Kraft Plus Challenge it's all about chalk, with their CRAZY ABOUT CHALK!

I think chalks was one of my very early scrapbooking purchases...too many years to think about ;) While I didn't actually still have those on hand, I did have some in my stash!

I created a blackboard like background using black gesso, chalking a little bit around it and colouring in some new collage paper from Kaszazz, with the idea of cutting out the flowers for my design. Let's say, I didn't have great success following the instructions on the chalks. Blending with your finger didn't lay down much colour at all, so I ended up pulling the chalks out of the pack and used them as you would a chalk or pencil, blending afterwards with a soft paintbrush to remove excess chalk dust and blending them out. I sprayed with hairspray to try and limit further mess, but decide to not play with the piece much more, so didn't cut the individual flowers out, leaving the piece of paper as it was.

Here is a close-up...

Retreat shares and new Kaszazz catalogue!

I was lucky enough to be at retreat the previous weekend...how good for the soul! I have to confess, I have the best bunch of ladies, lot's of chatter and laughs, couldn't ask for better especially during these times. Bonus was, I actually managed some scrapping too ;)

This layout is using the "whimsical forest" paper range from Kaszazz, plus various stamps, chipboard and die cuts from Kaszazz. The photo was taken by my talented sister, Carly Skinner Photography

This time I've used the gorgeous "stellar" range from Kaszazz, as well as various stamps and die cuts.

Also creating a few Christmas cards using the "Greetings from Australia" range.

Yesterday, Kaszazz released their new catalogue and it’s an absolute beauty! I’m absolutely loving the 2 new ranges released and can't wait to get my hands on them. You can view the new products through my web store HERE...grab a coffee and enjoy! I'm especially loving that the have the Dylusions and Distress Paints in the new flip-top lid, LOL now to get through my old stuff ;)

Thanks for stopping by and any comments you may leave me, are very much appreciated, thank you.

Creative shares

Hello! I thought I had better take more care with this little blog, especially as I receive gentle nudges from one particular reader 😉 very grateful to her and whomever else visits here.

In honour of Father’s Day coming up, I created a few cards. It was rather fun to create more masculine backgrounds. I used all Kaszazz products for these ones...

Close up of a couple of my cards...

I’ve also been doing a bit of scrapbooking...

This one using the gorgeous ‘nature lover’ range. All these products and more can be found on my Kaszazz Web Store, which you can find HERE. Grab a cuppa and take a browse.

Thanks for stopping by.

September Kraft + Challenge

Spring has Sprung! There is a fresh new challenge over at Kraft Plus Challenges, how gorgeous is it!

I knew exactly what I was going to use for this challenge, but as it was, I simply took inspiration from the Dina Wakley stamp. Instead I really wanted to created a layout using all Kaszazz products and in particular, this fabulous face stencil. With the addition of the paper and arrows, this worked perfectly with the challenge.

I used Distress Oxide Sprays to add the pop of colour and to colour in the lips and eye.

The journaling has been added after snapping this photo, but essentially it's about my daughter following her dream of becoming a 'make-up' artist, though these photos are her modeling her partners look, not her own.

You can see the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the Kraft+ team HERE...they are worth the look!

I'm little bit excited to now have my own KASZAZZ Web Store, which you can find HERE

This gives you the ability to browse and shop online, at your leisure, with delivery direct to your door. All orders over $99 have free freight, in Australia.

August Kraft+ Challenge

Hello! Today I'm sharing my take on this month's gorgeous colour challenge over at Kraft+ Challenges. Isn't this month's mood board a beauty <3

I completed an art journal page, as I'm truly enjoying the freedom of art journaling at the moment. I don't put myself under the same pressure and it's a bit more playful, if you get what I mean. Here I've used a cut-out from the Dina Wakley Collage Collective on a background created with the orange, teal & copper using a mix of stencils and paints.

With a close up of the copper, which has a shiny, polished look.

Check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the team HERE and don't forget to join us ;)
Thanks for stopping by and thank you for any comments you may leave me.

July More Than Words Challenge

Hello!!!
Today I'm sharing a layout I created for the More Than Words challenge. I know, right now you don't know what is more surprising...that I scrapped or that I'm posting on my much neglected blog ;)

Anyway, with a bit of a nudge, I thought I'd actually join in a challenge...

For my take on the challenge, I thought I would scrap my son's last day of school ever! It's actually the end of all schooling for my children, an 'end of era' kind of thing for this emotional mum. We celebrated all together with a late lunch, as luck would have it, we were all home to do it.

I swear the colours are more monochromatic than they have photographed??? Using all Kaszazz products, except for the 'goodbye' lettering.
Thank you for stopping by. Stay happy & healthy.

March Kraft+ Challenge!

Hello, hello! I know, I'm a VERY slack blogger! I think I may have missed a couple of months, sorry. Instagram has become so easy and is far more interactive, that it is my 'go to' form of social media.

This month's challenge over at Kraft Plus is all about DIY Stamps!

I was super excited when I initially saw this challenge, as I always wanted to create my own stamps. I've always been inspired by Louise Nelson's DIY stamps and wanted to give it a try myself. Sadly, this remains on my 'to do' list, as I simply didn't get myself organised.
I have to confess I feel like I cheated on this one, as my stamps are DIY, but they are not created by me! I was lucky enough to have a talented friend, who had a load of stamps she had created herself out of craft foam...thank you Ronnie x

She had cut out shapes and clued them to a foam floor mat, too clever...they looked incredibly professional! As I had my gel plate out, I used it to add the paint to the stamp, getting a nice even coverage. I also used a toilet roll with paint for the pink circles.

"Sock cat" is about our kitten who temporarily needed a sock to protect a wound she received while wrestling with her 'sister'. This was already our 2nd visit to the vet in her short life, so it was important to us to help it heal as quickly as possible. A sock ended up being the solution! LOL we ended up going through a few old socks.

Check out the amazing creations by the rest of the Design Team HERE.
I hope you find time and inspiration to join us this month.
